Wax seals

What is an invitation suite without an equally impressive wax seal? All our wax seals are custom designed and available in a range of colours including white, pearl, champagne, blush, sage and gold.

Envelope printing

Do not underestimate the power of a professionally printed envelope, it’s the first thing your guests will see after all. Available in both digital (colour) and white ink print, depending on your envelope colour.

Clips

Paper fasteners (or paper clips) can be purchased to keep your invitation suite in order. Available in black, gold and rose gold.

Double thick stock

Our invitations are printed on stocks that have a gsm of around 300. But if you’d like something extra luxurious, double thick paper stocks (of around 600gsm) can be ordered.

Letterpress

In letterpress printing, a custom metal plate is created with raised letters that are inked and pressed to the surface of the cardstock to leave a luxurious impression. Options include one or two coloured letterpress, blind letterpress (an impression without the ink), or a combination of letterpress and digital print.

Foil

Foil printing also involves the use of a custom metal plate, using heat and stamping to transfer luxurious glimmer and shine to the stock. There are over 30 foil colours to choose.

Custom postage stamps

Create a truly unique letterbox experience for your guests by adding on a custom Australia post stamp.

Assemble

Not feeling the kitchen bench assembly line to put your invites together? Add this on and assembling, stamping and posting will all be taken care of for you.

Deep dive

Letterpress explained.

1-colour letterpress
Every element on your design is imprinted in a single colour.

2-colour letterpress
When all the text in your design is imprinted in one colour (for example, brown), but you have florals or a pattern in another colour (for example, blind letterpress). And yes, blind letterpress (imprinting without ink) counts as a colour!

1 colour letterpress plus digital print
Where some key items of your design are imprinted in a single letterpress colour (for example your names and date in black) and all other items are digitally printed (also in black).

Choosing your paper

Standard invitations are printed on around 300-350gsm. But you do also have the option of choosing extra thick stock (450gsm) or double thick stock (600-700gsm).

When it comes to letterpress, the thicker the paper stock, the deeper the impression. But that doesn’t necessarily mean 700gsm is the best choice. I love a paper stock of 450gsm as it’s thick enough to give a really good impression, but not so thick that it becomes clunky (or too expensive). However… our 450gsm stock is only available in shades of white. So, if you’re wanting a coloured card you’ll need to choose a 300-350gsm stock, or pay extra for a double thick (600gsm+) stock.

Choosing your ink colour

The ink used in a letterpress job is different to standard printing, and must match a pantone colour so that it can be hand mixed.

We have letterpress colour matches for most of the paper colours, so you can ensure your whole suite matches. However, some of the lighter colours like almond and nude do not have colour matches.

On that note, lighter colours (like almond) used on white card should be used with caution as the ink impression is not as strong. Imagine painting your nails with a light cream colour (it’s going to be a little patchy and will need multiple layers, whereas a deep red often only needs one coat).

The best possible colour combination will be a light card with dark ink.

For best results

Choose darker ink on light paper (for example if you want a green palette, choose a light green card and print a dark green ink).

Use blind letterpress sparingly and for design details (such as initials or florals) rather than for key elements, as it can be harder to read.

Ensure you have seen letterpress in person so you know the different results 300gsm, 450gsm and 600gsm will achieve. Some people are totally happy with the more subtle impression of a 300gsm stock, whereas others will prefer more.
